I recommend this product

Nike Dri-Fit Lycra

I have made 3 turtlenecks from this fabric in 3 different colors: pink, red, and green. It is very stretchy and, therefore, a bit challenging to work with on a regular sewing machine. I finally used a small zigzag stitch for all of the seams, which seemed to work better than various attempts with overlock stretch stiches. Interestingly, the pink fabric is a bit lighter weight than the red or green, however, I think they are all good for a cooler weather turtleneck. Machine wash and dry nicely. Originally, I bought the green to make yoga pants, but decided they would be a bit see through when stretched a lot. I recommend this for an experienced sewist -- not for the beginner.
